Charcuterie Board Care

We stand behind the quality of our charcuterie boards and want to ensure that we leave you with the right knowledge on how to care for your board after use. Its truly how the board will look its best and give it that rich color like it did when you bought it!

01

The Wash-Up

Hand wipe only with warm water on both sides. This will keep the moisture level even within the wood. Towel dry and leave lean up against something for maximum air flow.

02

The Re-Oil

You can use whatever food grade oils or waxes you prefer, I use a food grade mineral oil enriched with Vitamin E. Re-oil your charcuterie board as much as you’d like, typically re-oiling after every wash is ideal. The more you do, the better it will look and the longer the wood will last. But, a good rule of thumb is when the wood looks dull, it needs oil.

The Wood Conditioner

Apply a wood conditioner when the wood looks or feels dry, this is a combination of food grade mineral oil, beeswax and carnauba wax. The penetrating quality of food-grade mineral oil along with the water-resistant traits of beeswax and carnauba wax helps to rejuvenate the wood and prevent drying of the wood. Apply using a clean soft cloth to all sides, wiping off any excess. Let stand for 1 hour or overnight if possible.
